Definitions [5]
Define Fuel Cell
A cell capable of generating an electric current by converting the chemical energy of a fuel directly into electrical energy is known as fuel cell.
Define fuel.
Definition:
A fuel is a substance which generates energy when burnt & can be used for various purposes.
Define cetane number.
Cetane No:-The percentage by volume of cetane in a mixture of cetane and α-methylnaphthalene which just matches the knocking characteristics of diesel oil under test is called as cetane number.
Define octane number
Octane No:-The octane number can be defined as the proportion
by volume of isooctane in a mixture of isooctane and n-heptane
which shows the same knocking property as the fuel under test.
Define bio-diesel.
Biodiesel is a liquid biofuel obtained by chemical processes from vegetable oils or animal fats and an alcohol that can be used in diesel engines, alone or blended with diesel oil. Chemically biodiesel is the methyl ester of long of long chain carboxylic acids. It is also called as ‘Green Fuel’.
