उत्तर
Communicable diseases spread from an infected person to a healthy person through various modes. Airborne transmission occurs when an infected person coughs, sneezes or talks, releasing germs into the air. Contaminated food and water can spread diseases such as cholera, typhoid and diarrhoea. Direct contact with an infected person or their body fluids can also transmit certain diseases. Insects and animals act as carriers of some diseases; for example, mosquitoes spread malaria and dengue. Indirect contact occurs through contaminated objects such as clothes, towels, utensils and other personal belongings. Some diseases may also spread through blood transfusion, infected needles and other unsafe practices. Maintaining personal hygiene, consuming safe food and water, keeping surroundings clean and following preventive measures can help control the spread of communicable diseases.
