उत्तर

  1. Population growth is generally influenced by various natural factors. However, these are not the only contributors to changes in population. Migration also plays a significant role in increasing or decreasing the population of a region.
  2. Multiple factors drive migration, including physical, social, political, and economic conditions. The key reasons for migration are usually either push factors or pull factors. Pull factors are elements that attract people to a place, such as favourable climate, job opportunities, better living standards, or appealing urban lifestyles.
  3. On the other hand, push factors are conditions that compel people to leave their place of residence. These may include political unrest, wars, social or religious conflict, industrial closures, lack of resources, or natural disasters like droughts.
  4. Migration results in the formation of two types of regions: the donor region, from where people move out, and the receiving region, where people migrate to. The receiving area sees a rise in population due to the inflow of migrants, which also alters its demographic structure. Typically, cities and developed countries act as receiving regions and experience population growth due to migration.
