उत्तर
Wetlands: Wetlands are divided into four zones: subtidal channels, mudflats, low marsh, and high marsh. The high marsh is more of a terrestrial habitat, whereas the subtidal channels are more aquatic.
- Subtidal channels: These provide critical habitat for fish at low tide. In mudflats, this region allows for good drainage and floods.
- Mudflats: This area is abundant in invertebrates. As a result, numerous wading birds rely on this area for food. On mud flats, algal mats can also be seen.
- Low marsh: This habitat is ideal for cordgrass, insects, herons and egrets, and clapper rails.
- High marsh: Pickleweed and clumps of cordgrass grow in this area. Sparrow and clapper rails may be seen in this photo.
