When a customer receives defective goods, he files a complaint with the consignee or the accountable party. Instead of rejecting such a complaint, the consignee has to pay close attention to it and reply to the claimant with a thorough business strategy. The letter that the consignee sends in response to a complaint is referred to as a “settlement letter”.
