उत्तर

Natural gas power plants produce less pollution primarily because natural gas is a cleaner-burning fossil fuel that consists mostly of methane. When combusted, it produces significantly lower emissions of sulphur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) compared to coal or oil, and it emits virtually zero mercury and particulate matter. Additionally, natural gas has a simpler chemical structure with a higher hydrogen-to-carbon ratio, resulting in lower carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per unit of energy generated. When integrated into advanced combined-cycle configurations, their high efficiency further reduces fuel consumption and overall emissions per megawatt-hour of electricity produced.
