उत्तर

Hills get snowfall mainly because of their higher elevation. As moist air rises up the hills, it cools down due to lower temperatures at higher altitudes. When this temperature falls below freezing (0°C), water vapor turns into snow rather than rain. Plains, being at lower altitudes, have warmer air, which causes moisture to fall as rain instead of snow. This is why snowfall is common in hilly or mountainous regions but rare in plains. Additionally, hills cause air to rise (orographic lift), enhancing cooling and precipitation as snow, which does not happen as much on flat plains.
