उत्तर
Tropical deserts support sparse, drought‑adapted vegetation (xerophytes), chiefly succulents and cacti, thorny shrubs and bushes, coarse grasses, and occasional trees such as acacia, with date palms and other plants occurring only near oases or watercourses. These plants typically have long roots, thick water‑storing stems, tiny leathery or waxy leaves or spines to reduce transpiration, and seeds that remain dormant until rain, all adaptations for surviving extreme aridity.
