उत्तर
If a rigid body is pivoted at a point, then the applied force will rotate the body about the fixed point or about the axis passing through the fixed point. This motion is called rotational motion.
e.g. Earth's rotation about its axis, wheels of car in motion.

How is work done by a force measured when the force is in the direction of displacement?
A body, when acted upon by a force of 10 kgf, gets displaced by 0.5 m. Calculate the work done by the force, when the displacement is (i) in the direction of force, (ii) at an angle of 60° with the force, and (iii) normal to the force. (g = 10 N kg-1)
What do you mean by equilibrium of a body?
A body is provided at a point. A force of 20 N is applied at a distance of 40 cm from the pivot. Find the moment of force about the pivot.
A mechanic can open a nut by applying a force of 200 N while using a lever handle of 50 cm length. How long handle is required if he wants to open it by applying a force of only 50 N?
What do you mean by a centrifugal force?
What is the work done when the force on the object and the displacement of the object are perpendicular to each other?

State the condition when the work done by the force is positive
A force F when acts on a body, displace it by a distance d in a direction at an angle θ with the direction of the force. Write down the expression for the work done by the force.
