What is eutrophication?

उत्तर
It is the process of oxygen depletion in water bodies, occurring either naturally or as a result of human activities. Eutrophication occurs due to the introduction of nutrients and chemicals through the discharge of domestic sewage, industrial effluents, and fertilizers from agricultural fields. Algae and phytoplankton use carbon dioxide, inorganic nitrogen, and phosphate from the water as food. This causes the death of most aquatic organisms by depleting the water of its oxygen.
