- Liberty:
- Ensures freedom of individual thought and expression.
- Strengthens secularism by protecting religious freedom and belief systems.
- Empowers individuals to develop their personalities and intellects freely.
- Equality:
- Equality of status: Natural equality of all individuals before the law.
- Equality of opportunity: Ensures everyone has equal chances for development, free from discrimination based on religion, race, sex, caste, or place of residence.
- Fraternity:
- Promotes a sense of brotherhood and national unity.
- Safeguards the dignity of the individual.
- Was emphasised to counter colonial-era discrimination and foster a unified, democratic nation.
