उत्तर

I visited some historical structures in my surroundings, such as forts, temples, old wadas, bastions and stone-built structures, and observed the rocks used in their construction with the help of my teacher. I found that basalt rock is commonly used in many forts and old structures in Maharashtra because it is hard, strong, durable and easily available in the region. In some temples and decorative structures, granite, sandstone, or marble may also be used. Different rocks were selected according to their strength, durability, availability and suitability for carving or construction.
