उत्तर

Producers are price takers under a perfect competition market structure. In this market, individual firms have no power to influence the market price and must accept the prevailing price determined by the total market forces of supply and demand.

Characteristics of Perfect Competition:

  1. Large Number of Buyers and Sellers: There are so many individual buyers and sellers that the market share of a single firm is negligible. As a result, no single seller can influence market supply or pricing by adjusting their own output.
  2. Homogeneous Products: In terms of quality, size, and design, every company in the market sells the same commodity (for example, wheat). Because the commodities are perfect replacements, consumers will immediately switch to a competitor if one firm attempts to raise its prices.
  3. Freedom of Entry and Exit: There are no legal, financial, or technological barriers that are preventing new enterprises from joining or current firms from leaving. This free movement eliminates any long-term abnormal profits because new competitors can rapidly enter the industry.
