(i) 

(ii) Functions:

  • Placenta: Enables the exchange of oxygen, nutrients and wastes between maternal and foetal blood without the two blood supplies mixing.
  • Amniotic fluid: Cushions the embryo and protects it from shocks and mechanical injury.

(iii) Marked X on the fallopian tube, near the ampullary–isthmic junction.
