उत्तर

"I am pleased that my words have had an impact," Sergei says. He says this because he believes he is the reason Lushkoff went from being a beggar to a notary. This is partially accurate, although Lushkoff's current identity was shaped by a number of people besides Sergei. Lushkoff claims that Olga, Sergei's cook, is responsible for his metamorphosis even though he is grateful to Sergei for teaching him the proper way and allowing him to perform woodworking at home. It was her, not Lushkoff, who chopped the wood.
