Dear Diary,
Today I realised that I have been very careless about my teeth. I have always loved chocolates, sweets and toffees and never bothered to brush my teeth properly. Now I have to visit the dentist, and I am frightened by the thought of the pain and the expense involved. When my mother says, “I can’t afford to, after what Jack’s done to his teeth,” I understand that she means she cannot afford to give in to my demands for sweets anymore. My bad habits have already caused enough trouble and expense. I wish I had listened to my parents and taken better care of my teeth. From today, I will brush twice a day, eat fewer sweets and keep my teeth clean. I have learnt that prevention is much better than treatment.
