उत्तर
- Peninsular Plateau: The Peninsular Plateau is made up mostly of igneous and metamorphic rocks, which are very old, hard, and resistant to erosion. Due to this, rivers in this region flow over a gentle slope, forming shallow and broad valleys with a low gradient and less erosion.
- Himalayas: In contrast, the Himalayas consist mainly of young sedimentary rocks, which are softer and more easily eroded. As a result, rivers here have a steep gradient and flow swiftly, cutting through the rocks to form deep gorges and V-shaped valleys.
