- Recruitment Interview: It is taken to assess the suitability of candidates for a job. The interview can be used to provide the necessary information about the organization and the job. The interviewer and the candidate both must be well-prepared for the interview so that a good decision can be taken.
- Appraisal Interview: Appraisal interview gives both the employer and the employee an opportunity to know each other and helps in improving employer-employee relations. It is useful for finding out the conditions, morale, etc. of employees through face-to-face.
- Disciplinary Interview: Discipline is important for the success of every organization. It helps to locate the cause of indiscipline. During the disciplinary interview, the approach of the superior manager should be constructive. Appropriate counseling may be used to assist the employee in overcoming his problems and in modifying his behavior.
- Informal Interview: informal interview is an unplanned interview that can happen at any place, usually when there is an urgent need for staff.
For example, a friend or relative may bring a candidate to the employer’s or manager’s home, where a few basic questions such as name, birthplace, education, and work experience are asked. Another example is when a candidate visits the organisation after seeing a job advertisement and informally inquires about available positions. - Formal Interview: A formal interview is a well-organised and pre-scheduled interaction conducted in a professional setting. All necessary arrangements, such as the location, timing, interview panel, and the questions to be asked, are planned ahead of time to ensure a structured process.
- Patterned or Structured Interview: A patterned or structured interview is one that is highly organised and precisely planned in advance. It is based on the idea that an interview is most effective when every important aspect is pre-decided, including the list of questions, the sequence in which they are asked, the duration of the interview, and the type of information to be gathered. The interviewer is carefully chosen and plays an active role, while the candidate is mainly expected to respond to the set questions. This format follows a standardised and pre-established structure, which is why it is also referred to as a directed or guided interview.
- Non-Directed or Unstructured Interview: In this type of interview, the candidate is encouraged to express themselves openly. The interviewer listens attentively and patiently, only prompting the candidate when they pause or fall silent. In simple terms, the interview does not follow a fixed structure or a pre-set list of questions, making it free-flowing and spontaneous.
- Group Interview: In this type of interview, candidates are assessed in groups instead of individually. A specific topic is given for discussion, and participants are closely observed to see who takes the lead, how actively they contribute, how clearly they present their ideas, and how respectfully they respond to others' opinions. This method works on the belief that a person's behavior in a group setting reflects their potential for job success.

उत्तर २
Two types of Interviews are as follows:
- Structured Interview: Structured interviews are a formal, standardised method of conducting interviews in which multiple sets of questions, with the same format and level of difficulty, are prepared in advance. In order to maintain objectivity throughout the interview, various candidates are asked distinct sets of questions, each of which has the same structure and degree of difficulty.
- Group Interview: In this interview, several candidates present themselves to the interview committee together. The candidates are asked to explain a topic or offer their opinions on an issue. The interviewers assess the candidates’ communication skills, presence of mind, expression, and other qualities as they answer questions and present arguments and counterarguments.
