Is there a gravitational force between two objects kept on a table or between you and your friend sitting next to you? If yes, why don’t the two move towards each other?

Yes, because of the force of friction between each object and the table, two objects placed on a table do not move in the direction of one another. In the same way, neither my friend nor I move in the direction of one another due to the force of friction between our bodies and the floor.
