उत्तर

Given: A single throw of two fair six-sided dice; find probability of a doublet of even numbers.

Step-wise calculation:

1. Total number of possible outcomes

= 6 × 6

= 36

2. Even faces on a die are {2, 4, 6}.

Doublets of even numbers both dice same even are (2, 2), (4, 4), (6, 6).

Number of favourable outcomes = 3.

3. Probability = `"Number of favourable outcomes"/"Total outcomes"`

= `3/36`

= `1/12`

The probability of getting a doublet of even numbers in one throw of two dice is `1/12`.
