Let, side of cube = l
Then volume of old cube = l3 ...(i)
If each edge of the cube is doubled, then side = 2 × l
Then volume of the new cube = (2l)3 = 8l3 ...(ii)
From equations (i) and (ii)
Volume of new cube = 8 × volume of old cube.
Therefore, in this case, the volume of the cube will become 8 times.
