Ozone is constantly created as UV radiation interacts with molecular oxygen, and it is also broken down into molecular oxygen in the stratosphere. Ozone is broken up into molecular and atomic oxygen with a significant quantity of heat by the high intensity UV radiation. The stratosphere is warmed by this heat.
