उत्तर

China performs better than India and Pakistan in most major Human Development Indicators because it has invested more consistently in health, education, infrastructure and income-generating opportunities.

According to the latest Human Development Report 2025:

  • China’s HDI value is 0.797, and it ranks 78th.
  • India’s HDI value is 0.685, and it ranks 130th.
  • Pakistan’s HDI value is 0.544, and it ranks 168th.

China also performs better in important indicators such as:

  • Life expectancy: China – 78.0 years, India – 72.0 years, Pakistan – 67.6 years.
  • Expected years of schooling: China – 15.5 years, India – 13.0 years, Pakistan – 7.9 years.
  • Mean years of schooling: China – 8.0 years, India – 6.9 years, Pakistan – 4.3 years.
  • GNI per capita: China – about \$ 22,029, \"India"\ – \$9,047, Pakistan – \$5,501 in 2021 PPP dollars.

China’s better performance is mainly due to greater investment in education, healthcare, industrialisation, employment, infrastructure and poverty reduction.

Hence, China leads India and Pakistan in human development because its economic growth has been accompanied by stronger improvements in health, education and standard of living.
