प्रश्न
Find `x/y`; when x2 + 6y2 = 5xy.

उत्तर
x2 + 6y2 = 5xy
Dividing both sides by y2, we get
`x^2/y^2 + (6y^2)/y^2 = (5xy)/(y^2)`
`(x/y)^2 + 6 = 5(x/y)`
`(x/y)^2 - 5(x/y) + 6 = 0`
Let `x/y = a`
∴ a2 – 5a + 6 = 0
`=>` (a – 2)(a – 3) = 0
`=>` a = 2, 3
Hence, `x/y` = 2, 3
