उत्तर

Successive discount = 20%, 10% and 5%

Let M.P. = ₹100

∴ S.P. after three discounts

∴ S.P.`=("M.P."(100-"Discount%"))/100`

`=₹(100(100-20)(100-10)(100-5))/(100xx100xx100)`

`=₹(100xx80xx90xx95)/(100xx100xx100)`

`=₹342/5`

∴ Total discount`=100-342/5`

`=(500-342)/5=158/5`

∴ Single discount`=158/5%`

= 31.6%
