उत्तर

  1. Bowled: The bowler’s delivery hits the striker’s wicket and dislodges at least one bail or stump.
  2. Caught: A fielder, wicketkeeper or bowler catches the ball after it touches the striker’s bat or the hand holding the bat, before it touches the ground.
  3. Stumped: The wicketkeeper fairly puts down the wicket while the striker is out of the crease, not attempting a run, and has missed the ball.
  4. Leg before wicket (LBW): A delivery other than a no-ball hits the batter’s body before the bat, and the umpire judges that it would otherwise have hit the wicket, subject to the conditions of the law.
  5. Run out: While the ball is in play, the fielding side fairly puts down the wicket when the batter has no part of the bat or body grounded behind the relevant crease.
  6. Hit wicket: After the bowler has entered the delivery stride and while the ball is in play, the batter dislodges the wicket with the bat or body in the circumstances covered by the law.
  7. Handled the ball: The textbook list includes this dismissal when a batter deliberately handles the ball with a hand not holding the bat without the opposition’s consent.
  8. Obstructing the field: The batter deliberately obstructs or distracts the fielding side by word or action.
  9. Timed out: The incoming batter fails to be ready to face the next delivery within the permitted time after a dismissal.
  10. Hit the ball twice: The batter deliberately strikes the ball a second time, except to protect the wicket in the manner allowed by the laws.
  11. Retired: In the textbook list, a batter who retires without the required consent is described as out.
