Sills Dykes
The collection of magma between layers of rocks is called a sill. The fillings of magma in the cracks or fissures of rocks are called dykes.
Horizontal intrusions of magma. Vertical or steeply inclined intrusions of magma.
Form between existing layers of rock. Cut across existing rock layers.
Magma spreads sideways and solidifies in sheets. Magma moves upward through cracks and hardens.
