उत्तर
Organisation of the High Court in India:
- Each High Court consists of a Chief Justice and other judges as decided by Parliament based on the court’s workload. For example, the Guwahati High Court has 3 judges, while the Allahabad High Court has 95.
- Judges are appointed by the President in consultation with the Chief Justice of India, the Governor of the state, and the Chief Justice of the concerned High Court.
- A judge must be a citizen of India, and have at least 10 years experience as a High Court advocate or in a judicial office.
- Judges serve until the age of 62 and can only be removed by impeachment under the Judges Inquiry Act (1968).
- Judges can also be transferred or appointed temporarily as acting/additional judges when needed.
