Types and applications in sports:
1. Class I Lever: Fulcrum between effort and load:
- Example: Seesaw, or seated dumbbell triceps extension, where the elbow is the fulcrum, the weight in hand is the load, and the triceps provide the effort.
2. Class II Lever: Load between fulcrum and effort:
- Example: Pushing against starting blocks in a sprint start or calf raises in running/jumping; toes act as the fulcrum, body weight is the load, and calf muscles provide effort.
3. Class III Lever: Effort between fulcrum and load:
- Example: Fishing rod action or leg extensions; the knee or hand joint acts as a fulcrum, muscle force is applied in the middle, and the weight at the end is the load.
