उत्तर
The focus (or seismic focus/hypocentre) of an earthquake is the point inside the earth’s crust where the tremors start, usually 50 to 100 km below the surface. The epicentre is the point on the earth’s surface directly above the focus. Maximum destruction occurs around the epicentre during an earthquake.
