Each and every managerial task involves coordination. “Coordination deals with the task of binding efforts in order to ensure successful attainment of an objective,” says George Terry. Planning, arranging, actuating, and controlling are how it is done.
A manager must instil unity and rhythm (balance) in his subordinates’ actions, just like an orchestra conductor does. He carries out managerial duties in order to achieve this. Coordination is the result of managerial actions, and a manager attains coordination through the management process. Coordination actually makes control more consistent, organisation more cohesive, and planning more purposeful. It is essential to the management process.
