In the poem ‘How to Tell Wild Animals,’ the author describes the tiger using the two contradicting phrases ‘noble’ and ‘wild’. A tiger is a wild animal. It hunts and kills prey only when it is hungry. Tigers, unlike other wild animals, do not hunt or kill for pleasure. The poet has successfully used these lines to convey comedy.
