  1. Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald hoped the Indian National Congress would attend the Second Round Table Conference after the First Round Table Conference failed.
  2. Gandhiji and other political leaders were released from prison to foster a favourable environment.
  3. Following talks between Gandhiji and Viceroy Irwin, an agreement was signed.
  4. As per the agreement, the British government promised to include responsible government in the planned Indian constitution.
  5. As a result, Congress decided to take part in the Second Round Table Conference and stop the Civil Disobedience Movement.
