  • As can be seen from the above pie chart, nearly a quarter of the class thought. TV advertising should be banned completely. Just under a quarter thought advertisements should be on TV only after 9 pm. About another quarter felt that advertising of only certain products like alcohol should be banned. A small minority, however, thought that there should be no restrictions. Slightly less than a quarter thought that advertising should be censored.

 

  • As we can see from the above chart, slightly less than half believed that young people should be considered independent when they reach the age of eighteen. Almost a quarter felt, they should attain the independent stature only when they are twenty one. A small minority, however, thought that independence is spontaneous when one gets a job. A few felt that age was not the criteria to become independent.

The brief, bright streaks of light in the night sky are known as meteors. Those fall all the way to the ground are called meteorites. Meteorites can be divided into three broad categories: iron, stony – iron and stony.
 
Iron meteorites are mostly made of metals nickel and iron. They are not very common. Nearly 50,000 years ago, an iron meteorite, Canyon Diablo, which created a crater a nearly a mile wide and 6 feet deep, known as Meteor Crater, was found in Arizona.
 
Stony – iron meteorites rarely land on our planet. They are made of iron – nickel alloy mixed with non – metallic matter similar to the outer layers of the earth. Such a meteorite weighing more than one and a half tons was found in Huckitta, Australia in 1924.
 
There are three sub – types of stony meteorites. The first is the chondrites which make up 86 percent of meteorites.
Carbonaceous chondrites are another rare type of stony meteorites. The most famous of these fell in Murchison, Australia in 1969. It contains evidence that life on earth did not begin here. The last type, the anchondrites are also rare. Scientists say that such matter was once part of Mars and our own moon.

A survey was conducted among the teachers of New Hope High School to find out whether Class X students should be allowed to use mobile phones in the campus. The results of the survey are shown in the pie-chart below.

           While preparing to plant trees in a residential colony, highways or anywhere, one should consider three factors for taking a decision. What kind of (species) trees, where to plant and what kind of soil. One should consider the qualities of a tree such as a pattern of branching and its height.
            If it is a school, you need shade-giving trees of moderate height so that children can play under them and not be hurt when they climb on them.
           In residential colonies, trees with thick branches, like Eucalyptus or Ashoka should be chosen to control pollution and trap dust. Similarly, the nature of the soil too should be considered.
            If you are planting trees by the road side, it withstands the topical monsoon and provides shade in summer.

Sugar beet grows through the summer and is harvested in autumn and winter. When it arrives on site, the sugar beet is washed.
