The length of the line segment = 56 cm
Let the lengths of the two parts be 2x cm and 5x cm.
∴ 2x + 5x = 56
⇒ 7x = 56
⇒ `x = 56/7` = 8
∴ The length of one part is (2 × 8) cm = 16 cm and length of other part is (5 × 8) cm = 40 cm
