उत्तर

Given:

Velocity of light in glass (Vg) = 2.0 × 108 m/s

Velocity of light in diamond (Vd) = 1.25 × 108 m/s

Formula:

gμd = `"Velocity of light in first medium (glass)"/"Velocity of light in second medium (diamond)" = V_g/V_d`

= `(2.0 xx 10^8)/(1.25 xx 10^8)`

= `2.0/1.25`

= `200/125`

= `8/5`

= 1.60

The refractive index of diamond with respect to glass is 1.60.
