उत्तर

Let x = 15.89    ...(1)

Multiplying both sides by 100, we get

100x = 1589.89   ...(2)

Subtracting (1) from (2), we get

∴ 100x - x = 1589.89  - 15.89

∴ 99x = 1574

`therefore x =  1574/99 `

So, 15.89 = `1574/99`

Add the following rational numbers.

\[\frac{- 5}{7} and \frac{3}{7}\]

Simplify:

\[\frac{8}{9} + \frac{- 11}{6}\]

Re-arrange suitably and find the sum in each of the following:

\[\frac{3}{5} + \frac{7}{3} + \frac{9}{5} + \frac{- 13}{15} + \frac{- 7}{3}\]

Subtract the first rational number from the second in each of the following:

\[\frac{3}{8}, \frac{5}{8}\]

Simplify each of the following and write as a rational number of the form \[\frac{p}{q}:\]

\[\frac{3}{4} + \frac{5}{6} + \frac{- 7}{8}\]

Simplify:

\[\frac{- 2}{5} - \frac{- 3}{10} - \frac{- 4}{7}\]

Simplify:

\[\left( \frac{13}{5} \times \frac{8}{3} \right) - \left( \frac{- 5}{2} \times \frac{11}{3} \right)\]

Divide:

\[0 \text{by} \frac{- 7}{5}\]

Find (x + y) ÷ (x − y), if

\[x = \frac{2}{5}, y = \frac{1}{2}\]
