Differences between SMTP and POP3 are as follows:

SMTP	POP3
SMTP sends emails from the sender's computer to the recipient's mail server's mailbox.	POP3 allows you to retrieve and organize mail from the mailbox on the receiver's mail server to your computer.
It is implied between the sender and the recipient mail servers.	It exists between the receiver and the receiver mail server.
