E-governance is the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in government operations to achieve public goals by introducing digital means across various stand-alone systems between government and citizens (G2C), government and businesses (G2B), and government and government (G2G).

E-governance provides critical opportunities to use electronic means to promote responsible governance. It applies data technology to government processes and functions in order to achieve simple, ethical, accountable, and transparent governance. This includes data dissemination as well as timely and effective communication.
