उत्तर

`1/2` [0.3 + (- 0.5)]

= `1/2` (0.3 - 0.5)

= `1/2` (- 0.2)

= - 0.1

`1/2` (-0.1 + 0.3)

= `1/2` (0.2)

= 0.1

`1/2` [- 0.1 + (- 0.5)]

= `1/2` (- 0.1 - 0.5)

= `1/2` (- 0.6)

= - 0.3

∴ The three rational numbers between 0.3 and -0.5 are -0.3, -0.1 and 0.1

Add the following rational numbers.

\[\frac{- 5}{7} and \frac{3}{7}\]

Add the following rational numbers:

\[\frac{5}{- 9} and \frac{7}{3}\]

Simplify:

\[\frac{- 8}{19} + \frac{- 4}{57}\]

Evaluate each of the following:

\[- \frac{4}{7} - \frac{2}{- 3}\]

Evaluate each of the following:

\[\frac{- 6}{13} - \frac{- 7}{13}\]

The sum of two numbers is \[\frac{- 4}{3} .\] If one of the numbers is −5, find the other.

Fill in the branks:

\[\frac{- 4}{13} - \frac{- 3}{26} = . . .\]

Simplify each of the following and write as a rational number of the form \[\frac{p}{q}:\]

\[\frac{- 9}{10} + \frac{22}{15} + \frac{13}{- 20}\]

Simplify:

\[\frac{- 2}{5} - \frac{- 3}{10} - \frac{- 4}{7}\]

Multiply:

\[\frac{- 8}{9} \text{by} \frac{3}{64}\]

Simplify:

\[\left( - 5 \times \frac{2}{15} \right) - \left( - 6 \times \frac{2}{9} \right)\]

Simplify:

\[\left( \frac{13}{5} \times \frac{8}{3} \right) - \left( \frac{- 5}{2} \times \frac{11}{3} \right)\]

Divide:

\[1 \text{by} \frac{1}{2}\]

For each set of rational number, given below, verify the associative property of addition of rational number:

(iv) `-1, 5/6 and (-2)/3`

Compare: `-1 1/2 and 0 or -3/2 and 0`

Arrange the following rational numbers in descending order.

`(-3)/(8),(2)/(5) and (-1)/(3)`

Which arrow best shows the position of `11/3` on the number line?

For every rational number x, x + 1 = x.

0 is whole number but it is not a rational number.
