उत्तर
The Word Association Test (W.A.T.) is a projective psychological technique used to uncover a person’s unconscious thoughts, emotional conflicts, and personality traits. In this test, the subject is presented with a series of stimulus words, one at a time, and is asked to respond with the first word that comes to mind.
The idea is that spontaneous responses reveal underlying feelings, desires, and mental associations. Delays in response, unusual word choices, or repeated themes may indicate emotional disturbances, unresolved conflicts, or areas of stress in the person’s psyche.
W.A.T. is commonly used in clinical and personality assessments, and sometimes in psychoanalytic therapy, to explore deep-seated mental processes that are not easily expressed through direct questioning.
