About half of India’s major oilseed production comes from groundnuts, making them the most significant oilseed in the nation. Groundnut kernels have a high calorific value and are high in vitamins and proteins. It has between 40 and 50 percent oil, which is mostly utilised as pure or hydrogenated vanaspati edible oil. Additionally, groundnut oil is utilised in the production of margarine, medical emulsions, wool and silk, synthetic leather, soap, and toiletries. You can eat groundnuts raw, roasted, salted, or sweetened. Its oil cake serves as a valuable and nutritious feed for cattle. Because it produces atmospheric nitrogen and improves soil fertility, it is a crucial rotation crop.
