- Disasters are harmful events that frequently occur in the environment and cause human, material, economic, and environmental losses. Examples include floods, famines, cyclones, earthquakes, and so on.
- Disasters are classified into two types: natural and man-made disaster.
- The impact of disasters is determined by their duration and aftereffects.
- Disaster management is the prevention of disasters by developing plans to deal with them or gaining the necessary skills. It is separated into two parts: pre-disaster management (such as gathering information, remaining alert, and so on) and post-disaster management. (For example, rescue operations, etc.)
