Dear Neena,

I hope you are doing well. I wanted to share something very interesting that I recently learned about – the Great Indian Bustard.

The Great Indian Bustard is one of the rarest birds in the world and is sadly close to extinction. It used to be found across many parts of India, but now only a few are left, mostly in Rajasthan. This beautiful bird is very tall, with a long neck and brownish feathers. It plays an important role in our ecosystem by helping to control pests and maintain balance in the food chain.

It makes me sad to know that we might lose such a unique bird forever. The main reasons they are disappearing are habitat loss, hunting, and power lines which they often crash into while flying. That’s why it’s so important for us to protect this bird and spread awareness about it.

I have decided to do my part in saving the Great Indian Bustard. I’m planning to talk about it in our school assembly and also make posters to put up around our neighborhood. I will also write to the local forest department to know how I can help more. Maybe we could even visit a wildlife sanctuary together during the holidays to learn more about conservation.

Let me know what you think about this. Maybe you can help me in this small mission!

Your loving friend,
Namrata

The eight other runners pulled up on their heels
The ones who had trained for so long to complete
one by one they all turned around and went back to help him
And brought the young boy to his feet.

Then all the nine runners joined hands and continued
The hundred-yard dash now reduced to a walk
And a banner above that said (Special Olympics)
Could not have been more on the mark.
That's how the race ended, with nine gold medals
They came to the finish line holding hands still
And a standing ovation and nine beaming faces
Said more than these words ever will.
