उत्तर
- The Potsdam Conference in July, 1945 was a major turning point in the history of the Cold War.
- The conference was between Stalin (USSR), Truman (USA), and Attlee (UK). It happened after Germany gave up but before Japan did.
- The leaders reached an agreement to divide Germany and discuss Europe’s post-war future.
- But things got worse when Truman took a harder stance against Stalin and when the U.S. tested the atomic bomb, which Truman told Stalin about but didn’t go into detail about.
- Disagreements about Eastern Europe and reparations made people even less trusting of each other, which made ties between the US and USSR even worse and sped up the Cold War rivalry.
