उत्तर
The tundra is classed as a desert because it receives very little precipitation. Tundra zones get only scant snowfall or rain, often below about 25–50 cm per year, and have little evaporation or soil moisture available, so plant growth is extremely limited; for this reason, the region is commonly described as a “cold” or “polar” desert.
