उत्तर

Equatorial regions are the hottest and wettest because they receive nearly vertical, intense sunlight year‑round (so surface heating is strongest and day length changes very little), which keeps temperatures high and the annual temperature range small; that intense heating makes the air warm and buoyant so it rises, and as the rising air cools its abundant water vapor condenses into clouds and frequent, heavy convectional rain a process reinforced by the persistent low‑pressure convergence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone and by large amounts of evapotranspiration from dense rainforests, so humidity and rainfall remain very high (typical mean temperature 25–30 °C, humidity 80% and rainfall often 175–250 cm annually).
