Thymus is the primary lymphoid organ. In the thymus gland, immature lymphocytes differentiate into antigen-sensitive lymphocytes. If the thymus gland is removed from a person’s body, his immune system will become weak. The body becomes more vulnerable to infectious diseases as a result.
