उत्तर

The Early Nationalists were a group of loyalists who were proud of their British roots. They believed in the British concept of fairness and fair play. The first session of Congress closed with “three cheers” for Hume, who responded with “three cheers” for her majesty, “the Queen Empress.” They expected the Englishmen to grant the Indians ‘Home Rule’ once they learnt of their wishes. They depended on the solemn promises made by the British government from time to time. In truth, their criticism of the government was also founded on dignity and moderation.
