Edwards Syndrome (Trisomy 18) is the second most common trisomy in live births after Down's Syndrome. Although it is more common than Patau Syndrome, it has a very high neonatal mortality rate with most affected individuals surviving less than one year. The severe clinical features and high mortality make this a significant chromosomal abnormality despite its relatively higher incidence compared to Trisomy 13.
